C*** O* K****!
11th August 2008
The first of our four week long residency gigs with Turning Worm Promotions at the Enterprise started last Thursday and ended up being a top night. The old and new faces mixed well and as with most hot summer evenings in London now, most of the drinking was done out of the street and that’s where the real characters hang. With Mark converting the homeless, Mitch ripping holes in his suit and Luke going on a two hour voyage for WD40, Dan and I had little else to do but bask in the glory of a top gig. We’ve been in the studio all weekend finishing a couple of new tune for ya’ll to hear fresh at the next one so there are now plenty of reasons to be cheerful. Carry on!

So why don't you come on down?...

Day 1 Recording
15th July 2008
So recording has begun and its going perfectly. We kicked off the session with a very hansom and reasonably priced fry-up with a cuppa tea and a couple of smokes to get lively. With that done we set up and smashed out three tracks in record time stopping only for a bit of carrot cake and to get to the bottom of a suspected in-band romance that is strictly prohibited. Scott (the engineer) and Ben (assistant) were top, top blokes the whole day and we cant wait to get back in the studio with them, so bring on the next scheduled session, which is in a couple of weeks.

RECORDING
6th July 2008
Very Very soon, us boys go into the studio to lay down 3 new tracks. Get in!

The week's build up to Tommy Flynn's
25th June 2008
Just heard Seasick Steve on the Colin Murray show coming home from rehearsal in Dan's motor. The guy blew us away, Real dark shit and man can he play slide or what. If you ain't heard of him, check him out, there's some good stuff on Youtube especially the stuff he did on Jules Holland.
Got this new song. It's fucking amazing, trouble is we just can't seem to figure it out in rehearsals; something's just not gelling with it. The melodies are amazing so there’s no doubt it'll be in the set in a few weeks but its' just so frustrating when a song is limbo like this one. Bit of the old Russian Vodka tonight at rehearsal to help us find a new perspective I reckon.
It's Tommy Flynn's this Thursday and I can't wait. I'm really buying into this whole residency idea. At the beginning I thought it was just gonna be a series of gigs that had pretty much no relation to one another but people are really getting into it and seeing it as more than that. People have been calling us and e-mailing all week saying they're coming so it looks like the venue is gonna be packed which helps, just hope they’ve all remembered their twisting boots.

Tommy Flynns 2
16th June 2008
Liar Liar was great, Russia with Supergrass was immense and now we want to make the next Tommy Flynns gig in Camden on the 26th just as good. Consistency is the key to championship winning form and we've been playing banging gig after banging gig consistently for enough time to say come to Tommy Flynns and see a really really great band play a really really awesome set.

Residency @ Tommy Flynns & VinnyVinny supporting Supergrass
1st June 2008
The last couple of weeks have been the start of an amazing buzz for all involved with the band. The Camden Crawl was a really memorable show with a rammed venue filled with people getting it and dancing to the new soul classics that Vinny Vinny have in their arsenal. Off the back of it we got a residency @ Tommy Flynns (Camden) through Turning Worm Promotions which will be once a month starting on Thursday 22nd May. More details will follow in the coming weeks on this one as there are some grand plans being put together for these events.
Also once again Vinny Vinny's Russian mates 'Blast' and the people at Krizis Zhanra are flying the band out to Moscow for the 4th time this year to play at 'Blast Festival' performing on the same stage as the likes of 'Supergrass' and Brett Anderson. Gonna be a fucking crazy time and one that the boys are really looking forward to. Again more details will follow on this one.
Keep the peace!
